Demonstrating progress against the Gold Principles

From mine to market, the gold value chain is large and highly varied. The Signatories to the Declaration of Responsibility and Sustainability Principles are gold sector business associations, trade bodies and gold exchanges.

In the drop-down boxes below, we share examples of progress on the Gold Principles by some of the Signatories to the Gold Principles.

Progress Roadmap

During 2025, the Gold Principles Group approved an Implementation Roadmap for the Gold Principles. The Roadmap is a high-level pathway for Signatories to show progress on the Gold Principles, individually and collectively over short, medium, and long-term time horizons.

The Roadmap provides a guide for turning commitment to the Gold Principles into actions that can support progress over time. It encourages action by Signatories and their memberships and partners. Implementation may build on existing or new projects and will be coordinated and tracked by the Gold Principles Group.

Many actions, initiatives and projects are already underway, as shown on this progress page. Importantly, the Roadmap recognises not all Signatories’ starting points or actions are the same.

Action Plans

The Roadmap will be supported by Action Plans for each Principle. These will be developed over time and will outline actions that can be taken by different types and sizes of organisation operating at different points in the gold value chain.

The Action Plans will outline a maturity model for each Principle, describing actions that can be expected at different stages of the journey towards meeting the Principle.

As the Gold Principles Group develops, we will share more progress on this website, including summaries of the Action Plans as they are approved.

Progress on the Principles

Note: Many of the Gold Principles are interconnected and some of the Signatory resources and reports outlined below relate to more than one Principle
